I am writing this to remind all of our Lyme community that, even though we are aware that there are Lyme Bills up for votes in Madison, we take no opinion for or against them. We are a 501(c)3 non profit that is unable to be involved in any political stance, per our tax information when we file each year. 

That being said, as each individual in our group may have an opinion, that is their right as a free individual living in our country. However, that being said, each individual should represent themselves and not the WLN in any shape or form. 

We have had two individuals feel that it is their “right” and “duty”, as members/advocates of the WLN to represent us in their personal opinion supporting or opposing these bills. This is absolutely not acceptable and highly unfortunate, as it puts our organization at risk. Many of our previous board members of late worked very hard at attaining our non profit status to help patients and our WI residents with awareness and education as well as help get doctors to properly treat. We are not an organization that has any desire to be involved in the political arena. 

As President I am pleading with everyone that has had any association with WLN in any shape or form, to please not represent the WLN in ANY way when you write your letters in opposition or in support of any legislation that takes place either statewide or at a federal level. This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. 

As a volunteer, I cannot keep up with the cleanup that has to take place when people go rogue and do their own thing. Please help us to protect our organization by NOT using our name in any shape or form when you are dealing with ANY political stance. 

THE WLN TAKES NO POLITICAL POSITION OF CURRENT OR FUTURE LYME LEGISLATION. WE DO NOT SUPPORT NOR DO WE OPPOSE.
